cluster cjk34@cam.ac.uk HTCondor is a open-source, specialized workload management system for compute-intensive jobs. Like other full-featured batch systems, HTCondor provides a job queueing mechanism, scheduling policy, priority scheme, resource monitoring, and resource management. Users submit their serial or parallel jobs to HTCondor, HTCondor places them into a queue, chooses when and where to run the jobs based upon a policy, carefully monitors their progress, and ultimately informs the user upon completion. HTCondor also contains mechanisms to submit jobs to grid-sites and supports many different grid toolkits. Enable backfill with BOINC jobs when the cluster is not being used Use dev-libs/libcgroup for kernel control groups Build contrib modules Use sys-apps/dmtcp for checkpointing Use app-emulation/libvirt for virtualisation Use net-libs/qmf for management Don't support standard universe jobs Enable the HTCondor Keyboard Daemon to monitor logged in X users for activity
