* Update bin/add_multilib_abi to fix the environment.bz2 files in /var/db/pkg ↵Nathan Phillip Brink2011-06-061-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | instead of just the db keys. When editing the USE and IUSE db keys but not changing the variables in environment.bz2, packages installed with an old portage-multilib installation, the eclass implementation, or by vanilla portage the environment file would be inconsistent with what portage sees. This means that when multilib-portage tries to uninstall a package, the pkg_postrm() stage would always die() with the message ``Could not determine or profile ABIs''. This new script updates the bzip2-ed environment file's USE and IUSE environment variables properly and fixes this problem. http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6710761.html#6710761 Signed-off-by: Thomas Sachau <tommy@gentoo.org>

* This is quite a significant update to the experimental eclass. I'd alsoSteven J Newbury2009-04-121-76/+92
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | like to propose a policy change which this update enables. To now, the multilib source dir env vars have only been set during the initialisation of the build dir for each ABI, and have been local to that pass. They are now set globally (even when multilib is disabled), and are available for export to ebuilds which can make use of them to find their documentation and configuration files during the src_install phase when those files are not copied to the build dir. This will hopefully eventually allow the removal of the documentaion copying hack. This update also renames those variables to more meaningful names in this context, along with a few other renames to various functions.
